Fungoid (Delver)

((Black Hack Variant))


When the star ship filled with Ta'ak and other hostile alien beings was summoned into the atmosphere, it plummeted into the Mountain now dubbed "Eversmolder". An ancient series of tunnels and chambers beneath the mountain's surface collapsed during the impact, engulfing the wreckage.

While few know the true origin of the "meteor" that pummeled the mountainside, the mountain itself has long been the stuff of horrific legends, and a constant source of fear and evil.

Many fell creatures have been drawn to the mountain, and the wreckage, and the fungoid population, once decimated by the cataclysm has begun to spread beneath the surface.

Fungoid Delvers venture far from germinating caverns, often collecting relics and oddities.

When an Fungoid Delver is encountered, roll 2d6 one or more times to determine what valuables it has recovered. If the item(s) are usable, the Fungoid will employ it(them) against the characters.

  2| Enchanted melee weapon that deals +1 damage.

  3| Helmet (respirator/ filter); grants immunity to fungoid spore
      attacks.

  4| Healing Potion (fermented): Recover 1d8 HP of damage, but
      all tests at disadvantage for 1 hour.

  6| Enchanted Belt: +1 Strength during first hour worn, usable
      once/ day.

  7| Ancient Coins: loot value for foe is doubled.

  8| Ta'ak Injector: Heals d4 damage/ CON test during next 
      sleep or transmogrified into hostile NPC Ta'ak.

  9| Ancient Small Shield: Can be "sundered" twice.

10| d4 Heavy Arrows (or bolts): Range is reduced by one 
      increment ( Distant > Far Away). Explosive: d4 targets 
      take 2d6 damage.

11| Harness: Projects a 2 AP field around the wearer. 
      Regenerates AP when not engaged in combat. Like the 
      Ta'akese Wand, the harness is powered remotely, and will
      not function outside of dungeon/ star ship wreckage.
